Awesome topo maps for all around. Only thing I find lacking is not being able to scroll when in locate mode. Other than that, an adventure backpackers BFF.

One drawback - some coastal areas peppered with the name of an island group on each small island obscuring topographical features, otherwise innovative and pleasant to use.

This is a great app! Cant wait to get my new off road vehicle out into the countryside!

This app works perfect now i can have a map handy when cell service is not available. The only thing i miss is a legend with seems to be so and easy thing to add.

If you like hiking in remote area, it is the app for you, download the maps of the area you need in advance then no need of a cellular signal! It is an amazing tool for Canadian hikers

There isnt a better, simpler app for topo maps in Canada. Layout is easy. Downloading maps is easy. Top notch.

Great for planning back country excursions and hikes with the scouts. Great app and great price fully satisfied.

List of maps in previous version much more useful than lid of trails. Ruler not as accurate in distance and bearing in this version and It does not allow for measuring long distances across many maps and or screens.

How can I get rid of this version and go back to version3.2.2

Great map and good on batteries with my IPhone. iPhones do not need data connection to show your position. It has GPS. Because the maps are downloaded on the phone you can see your position on the downloaded map. Decent on battery life, great detailed map that you would have to pay $80 to get on a garmin GPS. Easy to use. Like it a lot. Do not believe you can record your track yet. I emailed multiple tracks to myself and it was a click of a button to load these tracks on the app. Now I have the GPS tracks on the app. I am impressed.

Great and easy to use app for downloading topo maps for offline use. Having a list of maps including how much space each takes up would be a nice feature. Also if we could know what map number were looking at (eg 92G8) it would be helpful.

Great update but still needs output to different formats, i.e. MGRS and UTM. The latest update added an option for the old ruler which I truly appreciate.

Hot digidy ! Thank you for the return of a straight rule as an option that shows a bearing also. Used with a hand compass, this allows me to sleep my iPhone between way points in forest walks, thus stretching the battery life for days.

Great app. Perhaps the next update could restore some features from version 3.x, namely a list of maps (instead of trails only), the units of elevation in meters (instead of feet), and the map name appearing (at least momentarily) on the screen. Thanks!

Im disappointed that the old method of measuring distances has been removed, far less accurate now. If the old method was put back in I would be way happier!!!edit ruler is back !!!! Much much better, thank you for listening, awesome

Update: There have been a lot of improvements to this app that addressed some of the things I found lacking previously. But there are still problems. Map downloads are now very problematic. No longer can you download the actual topo map scale as before, and instead have to download these tiny little segments at a time (at a guess Id say SW Ontario has been divided into 5 times more sections as before). The new format makes viewing a very broad scale very difficult as well, since it prompts the download view. But even worse, the download feature is very buggy. Downloads often cancel for no reason, and on more than one occasion I ended up with large parts that could simply never be downloaded, requiring the app to be deleted. Even reinstalling hasnt fixed it. Plus, the developer has not included any way to contact him to report bugs, or even to suggest improvements. On the plus side, flags/waypoints can now be imported, and this app is unmatched in its ability to scroll through large numbers (~2500) without any sort of delay. Original review: Really great app, with very smooth zooming and panning. Unmatched would be more like it. Center crosshairs work great and the measure feature is something nearly every similar app lacks. That said, a few changes could greatly improve this. - bearing on measure feature, and a way to breakdown the sections would be great in addition to just listing the total distance. - allow UTM format - show position details for crosshairs location on main map view. - import/export flags - in-app toggle between map layers would be a nice bonus All in all quite good, though!
